AI-first pods are rewriting traditional IT services

I stumbled across an article that describes how traditional IT services aren’t dying but being rewritten in a way no human can read alone. It’s not about cutting jobs or becoming an "AI company" but how they deliver those same services more efficiently. Since I also run a company that provides IT services, this is quite interesting.

One part I found super useful - the idea of AI-first pods. Think about the typical massive software project team: 50+ people, years-long SAP implementations. That’s changing... Smaller pods are popping up, blending human developers with AI agents that can read, write, test, and deploy code. Imagine replacing a seven-member delivery team with three people and four bots.

Legacy systems aren’t disappearing anytime soon. I liked how the author explained that instead of rushing to modernize everything, companies should focus on building smart integration layers. It’s a practical mindset - work with legacy code. They used AI bots to document and reverse engineer a 750,000-line ASPNET project.

The shift in philosophy - no bloated one-size-fits-all AI agents. Instead, every tool and process is designed to solve a specific problem. Smaller, more targeted.
