Drinking Water During Meals Doesn’t Harm Digestion

Drinking water during meals doesn’t dilute your stomach acid to interfere with digestion.

The stomach actually adjusts how much gastric acid it produces based on the amount and type of food, so it can still break down proteins efficiently.

Most of the actual digestion happens later in the small intestine, where the pancreas releases enzymes that break down proteins, fats, and carbohydrates.
