Beginner Mindset and Tiny Docs for AI Engineering

Recently rewatched this fantastic interview with Boris (Creator/Head of Claude Code) with a fresh view, and this is what I've found most interesting today:

Engineers must adopt a beginner mindset

Old assumptions quickly become outdated; the best engineers think from first principles and adapt constantly.

CLAUDE. md should be tiny

This is what I've started practicing too because my overblown CLAUDE. md files just eat context. I reworked it and am focusing on keeping it super simple. Boris confirmed that this is actually the best version of it, because every new model needs less babysitting.

Execution (not vision)

A guy wanted to try an API, built a tiny terminal tool, then added tools and suddenly realized Claude became a junior engineer.

Your "architecture" is... temporary (can be easily changed in 2–3 weeks!)

Prompt tricks. Pipelines. Code. All scaffolding.

So what actually matters?

I mentioned that many times in my previous posts - Context Gardening 🌱

Middle disappears

Engineers split into two types: 1️⃣ Hyper specialists (deep systems people) 2️⃣ Hyper generalists (product + code + users)

Software engineer becomes:

"person who knows what should exist"

If your system still revolves around an issue tracking system, then I have bad news for you...

IT'S ALREADY DEAD ☠️
