Nietzsche, walking, and the making of Thus Spoke Zarathustra

I'm finishing reading Thus Spoke Zarathustra.

An interesting fact - Nietzsche wrote it during a period when he spent much time in the Swiss Alps, where he took long solitary walks (sometimes 6-8 hours a day), followed by bursts of writing.

Nietzsche himself often said that his ideas came to him while walking. In fact, he once remarked, "All truly great thoughts are conceived while walking."
