Why journaling reveals patterns you can’t see yourself

One of the most underrated things I keep recommending to people: journal.

It really helps you see patterns in your own behavior (and in other people’s behavior too!).

I’ve been journaling for more than six years, and I sometimes go back and review what I wrote. You can learn so much about yourself.

And now, with Codex/Claude, you can even ask it to analyze your journal, spot recurring patterns, or help you go deeper into a specific topic.

That’s one of the reasons psychotherapy works: you need an observer. Someone (or something?!) that can point out your blind spots and the "unknown unknowns" you simply can’t see yourself.

P.S. I think Leo discovered a lot about himself by going back and reviewing his journals over time.
