AI video tools may flood social feeds with spam

My thoughts on where we're all heading with AI video tools like Sora 2, Veo 3, and others...

The first reaction you often hear is: influencers are cooked. I don’t think so.

Influencers still have one big moat: authenticity. People follow them for personality, lived experience, unique viewpoints, and real connection. As long as we don’t have true AGI (yet), AI struggles with novelty. It mostly remixes what already exists. And prompting still needs a human behind it - someone who can guide ideas, shape the message, and bring perspective.

So who will be affected? Probably fashion models, talking heads, generic spokespeople - anyone whose value is mostly visual presence. It’s already easy to generate a pretty face and then slap products on it for ads.

But the biggest threat isn’t to creators - it’s to social media itself.

AI will flood feeds with endless auto-generated video. A tsunami of content... basically spam in video form.

Garbage you scroll past.

That’s the real risk: not that creators disappear, but that the platforms drown in noise.
