How irritation in others can reveal our own blind spots

Ever notice how the little things people do can drive you crazy? That one habit, that one comment - it just gets to you.

I came across this thought from Carl Jung: "Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves."

Why did certain things irritate me so much? Those annoyances were little mirrors, reflecting my own insecurities or past experiences. Sometimes, what bothers us in others is something we secretly struggle with ourselves. I remember getting frustrated with someone who always interrupted during meetings. It was annoying - until I realized I do the same thing when I get excited about an idea. The irritation wasn’t really about them; it was about me noticing something in myself that I needed to work on.

Instead of just getting annoyed, we should asked ourselves: What is this moment teaching me? Maybe our biggest frustrations hold the key to our biggest growth.

Heck, the older I get, the more I find myself reflecting on things. 😬
