🤯 OpenAI scored 12/12 at the 2025 ICPC World Finals (a team-based algorithmic programming competition).
It outperformed all human teams ( top human score 11/12). Competing under the same 5-hour rules and judging as the human teams, it solved 11 problems on the first try and the hardest one on the 9th attempt.
The team used an ensemble of general-purpose models - GPT-5 plus an experimental reasoning model - with no ICPC-specific training. This win follows strong performances at IMO and IOI, underscoring the system’s rapid progress and broad reasoning ability.
I don't know about you all, but that's pretty impressive.
