Leadership Means Hiring Smarter People and Avoiding Micromanagement

Managing a company isn’t about being the smartest person in the room - it’s about being smart enough to hire people smarter than you and having the humility to let them prove it.

Micromanaging kills creativity. I think leaders should trust their team to take risks, make mistakes, and own their decisions. If you’re involved in every single thing, you’re not leading - you’re just in the way. The illusion that you need to have all the answers only stifles innovation and erodes trust.

True leadership lies in creating an environment where your team feels empowered to take ownership, make decisions, and even fail without fear of reprisal. A great manager isn't a dictator but a conductor, orchestrating a symphony of talent and ideas.

The truth is this: if you’re indispensable to every decision, you’re not a leader - you’re a bottleneck.
