How leverage amplifies results in the AI era

Leverage acts as a force-multiplier, amplifying the results of your efforts.

I found this observation interesting from Naval Ravikant.

There are the following types of leverage: ➡️ Labor - having people work with/for you ➡️ Capital - investing money to scale solutions ➡️ Media - spreading ideas through writing, speaking, and influencing ➡️ Code - "permissionless leverage," where software works for you 24/7 ➡️ And now: AI, agents, robots, supply chains, and 3D printing – all of these further amplify individuals

With the help of leverage, one person can now create billion-dollar outcomes (e.g., Minecraft).

Returns become non-linear; as leverage increases, small inputs can lead to massive results.

The wealth gap is partly a leverage gap – it’s not just the "rich getting richer" but rather the "smart and leveraged getting richer."

Society isn’t ready for this shift because traditional expectations about work, income, and fairness can’t keep up with exponential leverage.

I recall that in Daniel Kahneman’s book "Thinking, Fast and Slow", he mentions that humans have a "linear" intuition. We tend to expect things to grow by a fixed amount (additively), rather than by a fixed percentage (multiplicatively). This cognitive bias often leads us to underestimate exponential growth.

The future will feel disruptive - many people will feel left behind because they won’t fully grasp how quickly leverage is increasing.
