The Paradox of Loneliness and Learning to Be Alone

I just finished reading The Art of Loving, and one part really stuck with me - the paradox of loneliness. It made me think about how often people see enjoying your own company as something unusual or even wrong. But Fromm argues the opposite: learning to be content and whole when you're alone is essential. The paradox is that to truly love someone, you first have to find happiness and completeness in solitude. Love isn’t about escaping loneliness - it’s about sharing the fullness of who you are with someone else.
