Why paper-filtered coffee may be better for cholesterol

Did you know that coffee can increase your cholesterol level?

I recently switched completely to paper-filtered V60 drip coffee (thanks to @levelsio).

The interesting part: it wasn’t the caffeine itself, but the oils. And paper traps most of the cafestol and kahweol - coffee oils that can raise your LDL.

Basically, it means that how you brew your coffee matters quite a lot!

French press/Turkish coffee/other unfiltered methods let much more of those oils into your cup.
